The Trust

The predecessor of the BMWTF, the Senior League Endowment Society of Collingwood, Inc. was formed in 1984. This group's objectives included finding ways to conserve and protect the environment and to promote partnership with other organizations. The Blue Mountain Watershed Steering Committee was formed in 1993. It included members of the Senior League, Niagara Escarpment Commission staff, Town of Collingwood Planning Department staff and Nottwasaga Valley Conservation Authority staff. The Committee held landowner meetings in 1995. The founding of the BMWTF was strongly supported at the meetings and an Interim Steering Committee was formed. The Trust was incorporated in late 1995.

Who We Are

The Blue Mountain Watershed Trust is composed of a volunteer Board of Directors, additional subcommittee members and volunteers, and is supported through the generosity of several hundred community members throughout the south Georgian Bay Region.
